人本视角下滨水公共空间活力评估与 调控研究——以上海黄浦江核心段为例

在“人民城市”建设的背景下，基于人本视角，以 人的活动体验为切入点，综合考虑空间使用情况与网络信息流 的作用，从多样性、聚集性、稳定性和关注度4个维度构建滨 水公共空间活力评价体系，探索基于使用者拥挤感知评价测定 “空间活力阈值区间”的方法。将网络大数据与实地调研数据 相结合，定量测度上海黄浦江核心段滨江公共空间的活力，分 析其时空分布特征；总结场地设施、城市腹地、管理宣传3个 方面的空间活力影响因素，并基于活力分布不均衡的现状，提 出疏导与提升、分区段与分阶段建设管理等活力调控策略，以 期为城市滨水公共空间活力评估与调控提供有益借鉴。     

FixMyStreet Brussels: Socio-Demographic Inequality in Crowdsourced Civic Participation

FixMyStreet (FMS) is a web-based civic participation platform that allows inhabitants to report environmental defects like potholes and damaged pavements to the government. In this paper, we examine the use of FMS in Brussels, the capital city of Belgium. Analyzing a total of 30,041 reports since its inception in 2013, we demonstrate how civic participation on FMS varies between the ethnically diverse districts in Brussels. We compare FMS use to a range of sociodemographic indicators derived from official city statistics as well as geotagged social media data from Twitter. Our statistical analysis revealed several significant differences between the districts that suggested that crowdsourced civic participation platforms tend to marginalize low-income and ethnically diverse communities. In this respect, our findings provide timely evidence to inform the design of more inclusive crowdsourced, civic participation platforms in the future.     

How does increased competition on the housing market affect rents? an empirical study concerning sweden

The aim of the study is to investigate if more competition leads to lower rents on the housing market. Data about the rent level for similar apartments in 30 cities in Sweden were available. Three hypotheses were formulated: (H1) Increased ‘internal’ competition, measured by the market share of the municipal housing company (that dominates the market and is price-leader according to the Swedish system of rent regulation), leads to lower rents. (H2) Increased ‘external’ competition measured by the price level on the market for single-family owner occupied housing, leads to lower rents. (H3) Lower capital expenditure in the municipal housing company leads to lower rents. The statistical analysis showed a strong correlation between the rent level and the level of external competition, but no relation was found for the level of internal competition and the level of capital expenditure. A possible conclusion is that policies that make it easier for households to leave the rental market are important for increasing the pressure on the firms in the rental sector and reducing rents.
